President’s Message

May 15th, 2012

Hello Achievers,

From the President

We have closed the books on another successful ski season at Mammoth Mountain. Though we faced a lot of challenges, particularly with a lack of snow, we can be very proud of what we accomplished this past season. We had a bunch of new students, a bunch of new instructors and overall did a great job of getting out on the mountain when most of our trips were done with less than perfect snow conditions. After the last two seasons when we had record snow fall, perhaps we were due for a slow one.

Our Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday June 9th in Irvine, at the same place we have had our summer picnic starting at 4 pm. 3754 Hamilton Street, Irvine CA. Dinner will be provided by Chef Lucas. Please RSVP to dsoc.trips@gmail.com. Also, Phong is collecting pictures and video to  be used for a presentation at the event, please send them to Phong if you would like to include them in the slideshow by next Friday, May 25th.  The sooner the better as he is already working on it.

Thanks to all of our members who have participated in the ski-a-thon and with fundraising in general. Many of our people have stepped up with donations both personally and through those made by family and friends. That being said, we are far behind last year and what we have budgeted for donations this season. If you have not been able to help so far this year, please do so as soon as possible so that we can continue to provide the same level of services to our students and their families that we have in the past.

Once again we thank you for all that you do in this grand and noble enterprise. Without the gifts of your time, your talents and your treasure this  great adventure would not be possible.

Gary P. Konecne
